🎓Education & Curriculum Support

As both a digital media graduate and a trained computer engineer, I’ve supported the intersection of education, tech, and creative media through hands-on mentorship, research collaboration, and technical guidance. My work spans classroom assistance, digital resource creation, and faculty support, especially in student-driven media environments like Bellarmine Radio and research labs.

🧑‍🏫 Peer Tech Support for Faculty & Students

112524-bellarmine-radio-02_54208201967_o.JPG

Provided one-on-one and group-based tech help for students and faculty—covering AV systems, audio editing, station scheduling software, website management, and basic troubleshooting. Offered responsive support before, during, and after live shows or academic events.

🔬 Research Collaborations

Talk-O-Photo:

Collaborated with Dr. Kyle Barnett at Bellarmine University on a digital humanities project analyzing early 20th-century “picture-disc” phonograph recordings released under the Talk-O-Photo label. These recordings featured silent film stars like Gloria Swanson, J. Warren Kerrigan, and Mae Murray, and were among the first attempts at blending visual celebrity culture with recorded voice.

My role involved processing and analyzing 14 archival audio tracks using Drift, a pitch-tracking tool developed by SpokenWeb. For each recording, I:

  • Extracted and organized vocal pitch data, windowed voxit analysis, and alignment JSONs

  • Parsed CSVs using Drift’s modular outputs: voxitcsv, align.json, and windowed.csv

  • Organized the data into labeled folders by speaker/performer, ensuring consistency across formats (MP3, CSV, JSON)

  • Prepared structured data for pitch contour analysis and interpretive discussion on performance tone, vocal inflection, and affective delivery

Each file was prepped for longitudinal and comparative study, contributing to the broader research focus on how celebrity identity was encoded in the voice—well before the era of synchronized film.

The following information, was extracted for 14 audio recordings:

Audio Transcript

Audio transcript is the uploaded transcript associated with this audio file.

Voxit Data

This is the same data found in the prosodic measures table on a given Drift document.

Drift Data

This contains pitch, word, and phoneme data for every 10 milliseconds.

Gentle Align

This is the Gentle data used to calculate Voxit measurements, and contains word and phoneme data, as well as their timings.

Windowed Voxit Data

Prosodic measures taken for consecutive 20-second slices of the audio file. For the prosodic measure data, the default window or audio sample length is 20 seconds. Rigorous testing showed that a window/audio sample of 20 seconds is ideal for its consistency in matching the prosodic measures of the entire audio length.

The full dataset includes recordings like:
05 Don't You (J. Warren Kerrigan)
07 Girls I Have Loved (Lew Cody)
08 My Prize Love Letter (Clara Kimball Young)
10 My Real Self (Mae Murray)
13 My Ambitions (Anita Stewart)
…among others, totaling over 14 recordings with complete analytical metadata.

📝 Academic Writing & Documentation Assistance

Bellarmine Radio:
Helped peers refine research abstracts, media analysis essays, and creative storytelling structures—especially within interdisciplinary digital media assignments. Served as a go-to resource for clarity, formatting, and argument development.

The two stacks of books showcase the depth of information that I have single handedly created for the purpose of the Bellarmine Radio Station, Website and two the Registered Student organization should interact with the Student Activities council. But also not limited to that.

The number of pages are over 1400 for both the documents.

📣

📚 Digital Literacy Advocacy

Promoted media literacy, ethical content creation, and digital skill development through my leadership at Bellarmine's Communication Department and student outreach.

Encouraged students and faculty to not just consume, but actively create digital content to assist themselves and future staff for tools and softwares that are more nuanced and intricate by creating a Knowledge Base.

🗂️ Student Media Resource Development

Media documentation also spreads across to the Bellarmine Department of Communication website, where I worked to fix links to articles and also for the Student's center for engagement on sites like engage.bellarmine.edu

This site was leveraged by me working and supporting 10 Registered Student Organizations by creating flyers, posting events, requesting budgets, creating purchase orders for various RSO's and also helping each RSO interact with each other along with the Student Government Association.

🎤 Mentorship in AV & Content Creation

Trained students in mic setups, mixing boards, podcast production, and interview framing—bridging the gap between tech knowledge and creative execution, both for class projects and extracurricular radio shows.

The image on the left (Mobile - Below), showcased the time I was requested to come to the Radio Station at 1 AM EST for an event called Vinylthon, which is where radio stations for a period of 24/48 hours play non-stop vinyl. The issue was the turn-table was not working and so I had to come in and swap out the defective piece with another one.

The image below, showcased the event, where I had fellow Bellarmine Students on AIR. I explained the background of how Radio works and also created the highest listened repeat show on demand. This event drew listeners from all over the world and brought other potential Radio Hosts and DJ's into the studio where they were able to experience behind the scenes and get tips on how to be a good host.

🧑‍💻 Educational Tech Integration

IMG_3193.jpeg

Assisted faculty and student teams in integrating tools like Moodle, Google Drive, and Apple iMac products with legacy hardware into coursework and classes, helping streamline project submission, group work, and media-rich presentations.

The manner in which I was able to assist was through a combination of documentation, short user-friendly manuals and also hands-on demos.

📖 Curriculum-Aligned Content Creation

Worked with Professors to deliver and advertise their classes over the radio and also assisted Dr. Kyle Barnett with scanning and organizing documentation pertaining to the Master's in Digital Media Program
